Volunteer Opportunities

With groups running throughout the week, there are lots of opportunities to volunteer with us. Here are 6 ways you can get involved:

  1. Volunteer with children (London, Leeds, Tyneside)

If you love working with children and are full of fun and creative ideas, you could help to plan and run activities for babies and toddlers. We need volunteers who can play games, join in with group singing and story-time and help to build a space that is safe, stimulating and welcoming.

  2. Support our parents (London, Leeds, Tyneside)

Many of the parents that come to our groups are isolated and without a network of support, so need volunteers who can spend some quality time with parents during our groups. You could listen and share stories, build friendships and help to strengthen a parent’s confidence.

  3. Help in the kitchen (London, Leeds, Tyneside)

If you enjoy cooking and are organised, we need volunteers who can prepare drinks and snacks for the children, support any group cooking activities and encourage both parents, children to get involved. Our volunteers also have the important responsibility of serving tea and coffee, providing a great opportunity to chat with parents.

  4. Support our gardening group (Southwark, London only)

We need volunteers who can help to water and de-weed our local allotment and join in with any group gardening activities. You may get a little messy, but it’s a lot of fun. You could share your knowledge and learn as a team to grow fresh fruit and vegetables.

  5. Help us with translating (Southwark, London only)

With a multi-cultural community in and around all our PACT areas (Leeds, Tyneside and London) we often need help from multi-lingual volunteers. This is especially true for Spanish speaking volunteers, who play an integral role in supporting our Espacio Mama groups in Southwark. You could practice your language skills and help to limit the isolating effects of a language barrier.

  6. Digital support (London, Leeds, Tyneside)

Do you have a talent for design? Do you enjoy photography? Are you a social media guru? We need volunteers who can help improve and update our social media platforms. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the field of marketing.

If you are interested, we encourage you to attend one or more activities before you decide which one to support.
