Looking After Yourself as a Parent

It's really helpful for you to look after yourself as a parent and this will help you look after your babies and children. This is more true than ever at this difficult time when we are being asked to self isolate and practice social distancing.

We know it's a stressful time at the moment, but here are some ideas you could try at home:

  • Breathe slowly
  • Sing
  • Dance
  • Exercise
  • Have a bath
  • Keep a journal
  • Eat well
  • Read a book
  • Rest
  • Laugh
  • Do your nails
  • Think positively
  • Pray or meditate
  • Keep track of your thoughts and feelings
  • Connect with friends and family online or by phone

We are all different - look for something that makes you feel good and try and do it as often as possible.
